Pet Food Ads Can Get Very Guilt Trip-y

Like every other week this year, time was at a a premium this week. But the good news is that there’s a space in time for the staff here to write an extensive T-Bird preview. Until then, behold the picks for Week Twelve (Side note: I’d very much enjoy it if “duzz” one day becomes ironically stupid shorthand for “twelve”).

WEEK TWELVE: PET FOOD EITHER MEANS YOU’RE WOEFULLY UNINFORMED OR ON SOME LEVEL JUST UNCARING

Last Week: 3-2-0, Season: 30-26-0, Lifetime: 85-55-3

Vikings (-3) @ Bears — Doing this for a reverse jinx to give the Lions some space, but yeah gimme the Vikings to win one in Soldier Field, outdoors as road faves. Until I see/hear something about how the Bears’s have de-quit, I gotta pick against them. They have no gumption. Need gumption. Vikies.

Chiefs (-10.5) @ Panthers — The “take Mahomes when he’s getting points” wings finally went a little too close to the sun. Alas. Let’s up/down this thing and not even consider Carolina. Let’s take the Chiefs to get serious and get one back on the road. We’re going heavy on road favorites so far this week. C’est la picks. Cha-heefs.

Niners (+6.5) @ Packers — Frisco is critically banged-up. I’d like to say this is a pick against their ability to withstand the injuries they’ve sustained. If they pull this off, I’ll never doubt regular season Shanahan again. Having said that, I like the dastardly Packers to keep the pressure on the Lions and score a big home win in this classic matchup. Cheeeeese.

Ravens (-2.5) @ Chargers — A little Harby Bowl to end the week’s proceedings! Kinda fun. These teams are made in the image of their coaches, who are brothers, so it’s no surprise that they’re similar in build. But the Ravens just have a talent edge at more spots. I think their offensive ball-control excellence trumps LA’s terrific defense. Take those Nevermores. Caw.

Lions (-7.5) @ Colts — They’re starting to get a little “I dare ya” with their Lions lines. This line being a hook over a big touchie is, as they say across the pond, a bit cheeky. But as we say on this side of the pond, especially if we’re kinda trying to paraphrase Will Smith from Bad Boys 2, ride or die. So let’s think about it: the Lions are tougher and they’re on an all-time heater. Might as well ride it. Getting off too early is no fun. Lions win big! Go Lions!

That’ll do it for Week Twelve! Come back early next week for a Thanksgiving Preview replete with all the fixin’s, blog-wise. I cannot wait to share it with you. Have a great Sunday of watching football, my friends. Auf Wiedersehen!
