No Diggity

Writing from the road this week. Fun circumstances lead to the rare Sunday roadie, but I think I’ll be back home in time to watch the Leos game against the hard-to-figure Texans in the Sunday nighter. No time for opening salvos, straight to the slap-up:

WEEK TEN: BY NO MEANS AVERAGE

Last Week: 2-3-0, Season: 25-21-0, Lifetime: 80-50-3

Broncos (+7.5) @ Chiefs — Chiefs can’t let me down two weeks in a row, right? Gotta start getting into a good Chief rhythm. If they’re a typical Chief team this is when they quietly (as quietly as undefeated defending champs can) establish their lone perch at the top level. Chiefs by 10.

Falcons (-3.5) @ Saints — The only thing that gives me trepidation here is this seems almost too easy. The Saints have completely fallen apart and are now prone to weirdly mean infighting. The Falcons are vying for a division title and building good momentum after a lackluster start. Birds that are dirty.

Steelers (+1.5) @ Washington — No real logic behind this pick, it’s honestly just a reaction in the context of knowing the last ~20 years of results. More specifically, Pittsburgh tends to be a better than Washington. I think this line is full of recency bias and I’m sticking with the larger sample size. Stillers.

Jets (-1.5) @ Cardinals — Stubbornly picking another seemingly dysfucntional team to win against the Cardinals at home in the desert. I don’t care. There’s a lot of Costanza-esque oppositery to the pick-making here. Knowing exactly how much to use, that’s the real trick. Jets in a doozy.

Lions (-3.5) @ Texans — Something’s got to give. My recent picks against the Lions have cost me in the pocket book, but it’s a price I gladly pay to galvanize a W. On the other hand, I have never once picked a Texans game right. So with that in mind, and being aligned chaotic neutral, I’m picking the Texans plus the kicky hook

So that’s all we got for Week Ten! Quick hit week from a faraway, less rainy land. Hope you all have a great Sunday and a terrific week out there. Nice that it’s finally getting at least a little chilly. We need colder weather. I bet I say that twelve million times in my life as I age. Auf Wiedersehen!
